Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
Arusha/Moshi (Start) - Tarangire NP - Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha/Moshi (End)

Tarangire National Park, Karatu, and the Ngorongoro Crater form the core anchor of Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. Known as the "safari corridor," this 3 days, 2 nights route links dense elephant populations, cultural hubs, and one of the world's most concentrated wildlife havens into a seamless travel path.

How the Route Connects

  • Arusha to Tarangire: ~2 hours (120 km) on paved roads.

  • Tarangire to Karatu: ~1.5 to 2 hours drive heading northwest. Most safaris pause in Karatu for overnight stays to avoid higher concession fees inside the crater rim.

  • Karatu to Ngorongoro Gate: ~15–20 minutes to the gate, followed by a climb to the rim and descent down the 600-meter caldera walls onto the crater floor for a game drive.

Mikumi National Park Safari - Ruaha National Park
Dar es Salaam (Start) - Mikumi NP - Ruaha NP - Dar es Salaam (End)

Immerse yourself in the heart of Tanzania's wilderness with this captivating 5-day, 4-night safari adventure encompassing the renowned Ruaha and Mikumi National Parks. Let seasoned guides lead you through diverse landscapes teeming with majestic wildlife, from towering giraffes grazing on acacia leaves to elusive leopards stalking under the golden savannah sun.

This iconic expedition traces Tanzania’s legendary Northern Safari Circuit, linking the bustling towns of Arusha or Moshi to three of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Moving from endless savanna plains to a dramatic volcanic crater and ancient baobab rivers, this route delivers a complete high-impact safari experience.

Key Highlights Along the Route

  • Arusha / Moshi (Start & End): The gateway cities. Moshi sits beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, while Arusha serves as the central safari hub, providing easy airport transfers and logistics.

  • Serengeti National Park: Tanzania’s flagship wilderness, world-famous for the Great Migration, high predator densities (lions, cheetahs, leopards), and horizon-to-horizon golden plains.

  • Ngorongoro Crater: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Its enclosed crater floor shelters ~25,000 large animals, offering your best opportunity to spot the endangered Black Rhino and complete the Big Five.

  • Tarangire National Park: Famous for its massive elephant herds (often numbering in the hundreds) and towering ancient baobab trees along the Tarangire Riverbed.
